I’ve recently been working with Laurie Knoop, food stylist, giving 3-day workshops on food photography and styling. One of the innovative aspects of the class is the availability of a printer, on site, to allow students to immediately see what their images look like in print. The students start by working on a simple still life made of vegetables and fruits. They then are assigned a chicken dish. The next day the students work on product shots. They end by working together on a project of their own choosing. I show them how to light and work with them on the composition. Laurie helps make the food look its best. We’re very flattered because students have been coming from around the world to take the class. We’re now offering an advanced version that will cover 6 Saturdays from 9 to 4. We’re still working out the details but would like to offer the first classes by the summer.
Hello Jim,
Do you have any classes planned?
I teach private and semi-private classes about food photography and food styling. Let me know if you’re interested.
